Somnusium
Story:
You play as a student in their mind. They must overcome various subjects in their schooling, from math to history, in order to do well. However, you as the player must decide: will this student go to sleep well after each day or forgo it in favor of potential short-term gains.
Aim:
Ultimately, the goal of the game was to communicat the long-term drawbacks of not sleeping enough hours. This would've been shown (if there were more levels and more enemies) through harder tests as you forgo more and more sleep. This would be despite the potential short-term gains that not sleeping could give you, such as
About Me:
Hi, I'm Geoffrey! I'm currently a senior at the Oakland Technical High School Computer Academy who's passionate about game development and interactive media. I decide to make this my advocacy project for my senior capstone as poor sleep is something I currently struggle with and a wide-spread issue that I wished to raise alarm bells in others about.
